One of the reasons I love living in Bangkok is that on any given day you are likely to run into something interesting going on in the city center. Most of the major malls here have at least one or two Cosplay events during the calendar year so the odds are pretty good that you will happen upon one of them.

Cosplay in Siam

Cosplay or "costume play", is a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character.

A broader use of the term cosplay applies to any costumed role play in venues apart from the stage, regardless of the cultural context.
