Tha Rua Shrine, Phuket Vegetarian Festival
The Phuket Vegetarian Festival
This morning I had the good fortune to be able to visit the Tha Rua Shrine outside of Phuket town. Needless to say, I am not normally exposed to imagery such as this but I found the experience fascinating to be able to watch the piercing and other rituals being performed inside the temple. This devotee prepares himself for the long procession to and from town that he and other members of this shrine endure.
